In 1-A boys’ second-round matches:

Estancia 2, Artesia 1 (sudden death)--Hector Espinosa scored four minutes into sudden death for host Estancia (12-8-3). Neither team scored in regulation, but Carlos Alcazar scored five minutes into the first of two 10-minutes overtimes. Ken Hess tied it, 1-1, for Artesia with about four minutes left in the second overtime period.

Will Bohuslaviski had seven saves for Estancia and Trino Martinez had nine saves for Artesia (18-4).

Newport Harbor 2, Keppel 1--David Pattison rebounded a shot by Bryan Mallin and scored with 30 seconds remaining in the match to give visiting Newport Harbor the victory.

Edwardo Carousleya scored 15 minutes into the first half for Keppel (14-4-1). Alex Opoulos scored midway through the second half off a free kick from Tristan Leyva. Lauriel Claudros had nine saves for Keppel. Josh Klein had five saves for Newport (19-4-5).

In a 4-A girls’ second-round match:

Dana Hills 1, Hawthorne 0--Molly Sullivan scored with 13 minutes remaining in the match for visiting Dana Hills (23-2). Briana O’Dowd had two saves in her 18th shutout of the season.

Hawthorne finished at 12-8-4.
