Conference to Focus on Asians at Risk of Becoming Dropouts

CERRITOS — A conference will be held Thursday on reaching Asian youths at risk of becoming high school dropouts, gang members or drug users. Co-sponsors are Helpline Youth Counseling and the Pacific Asian Youth Community Connection Project.
The conference, open to educators, local officials, parents and youth counselors, will be from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room of the Cerritos Public Library, 18025 Bloomfield Ave. There will be speakers from the California Youth Authority, school districts, drug abuse programs and Asian groups.
