NBA ROUNDUP : Hawks, Down by 17, Rally for Third Victory in a Row

Dominique Wilkins scored 36 points and the Atlanta Hawks overcame a 17-point deficit in the third quarter Monday night to beat the Miami Heat, 123-114, at Atlanta for their third consecutive victory.

The Heat took a 78-61 lead on a pair of free throws by Sherman Douglas with 6:28 left in the third quarter, but a tip-in by Atlanta’s Moses Malone started a 27-10 run that tied the score, 88-88. Kenny Smith had 10 points for the Hawks during the run.

Atlanta took the lead for good, 96-94, on a basket by Alexander Volkov early in the fourth quarter.

Malone had 27 points, and Kevin Willis added 14 points and 14 rebounds for Atlanta.

Rony Seikaly scored 26 points for the Heat, Glen Rice had 23 and Kevin Edwards added 20.

Philadelphia 129, Orlando 110--Charles Barkley scored 25 points at Philadelphia and the 76ers handed the Magic their seventh consecutive defeat.

Sydney Green had 36 points and 15 rebounds for Orlando, which has beaten the 76ers twice this season but fell to 4-25 on the road. Reggie Theus added 26 points.

San Antonio 105, Sacramento 96--Terry Cummings scored 10 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter and the Spurs downed the Kings at Sacramento for their third consecutive victory.

Danny Ainge scored 33 points and Antoine Carr added 24 for the Kings, losers of three in a row.
