SHORT TAKES : Sajak Spins Big Bucks on Wheel

His late-night talk show ratings may be in the cellar, but Pat Sajak continues to fly high on “Wheel of Fortune.”
Michael King, president of King World Productions Inc., and Merv Griffin, chairman of Merv Griffin Enterprises, announced today that Sajak has inked a two-year deal to continue as host of America’s favorite game show.
Though no figures were released, Griffin said Sajak’s deal was “the largest ever for a game show host.”
“Wheel” continues to spin records. Not only is it the most-watched game show, it has held the No. 1 spot in the ratings of all syndicated programming since 1984.
