Mazda Expansion: Mazda Motor of America Inc. bought 11 more acres in the big Irvine Spectrum industrial park to expand its U.S. headquarters, the Irvine Co. said this week.
No price was disclosed. Mazda already has a 120,000-square-foot building on nine acres in the park. It bought the land in 1985 and moved into the building two years later.
Construction on the new headquarters is set to begin within two years.
