Chargers Lose Campbell to Raiders

The Chargers lost their second player to Plan B free-agency Tuesday when the Raiders signed linebacker Joe Campbell, according to Campbell’s agent, Mike Merkow.

Merkow said Campbell signed two one-year contracts with the Raiders.

Campbell, 6-feet-3 1/2 and 242 pounds, was a fourth-round draft choice out of New Mexico State by the Chargers in 1988. As a rookie, he a 15 tackles, three sacks and 12 quarterback hits but spent six games this past season on the inactive list.

Earlier, the Chargers lost offensive tackle Brett Miller to the New York Jets in the Plan B program.
