Fluor Corp.: The Irvine-based firm said its first-quarter profit rose 31% over a year ago to $28.2 million on revenue of $1.9 billion, up 32%. The company cited improved profitability by Fluor Daniel, its engineering and construction unit; higher contract margins and the realization of performance incentive fees for the results.
