Sierra Madre : Council to Discuss Recycling
- Share via
Immediate implementation of a curbside recycling program, recommended by the Citizen’s Recycling Committee, will be discussed at the next City Council meeting March 27. Since October, the city has been conducting a pilot project involving Western Waste Industries and 933 residences.
Under the proposed citywide program, each dwelling unit would be charged a recycling fee of $1.50 a month. Service would begin the first week in April. Residents would receive orange containers in which to deposit aluminum, plastics, tin cans and glass. Newspapers would also be picked up if placed next to the container.
