Pico Rivera : Car Decals Considered as Means to Control Cruisers
Pico Rivera officials are considering issuing residents reflector decals for their automobiles in order to help sheriff’s deputies distinguish out-of-town cruisers who pack the city’s main boulevards four nights a week.
Sheriff’s Capt. William T. Sams said the decals, which would be displayed on residents’ cars and trucks, would help deputies cut down on unnecessary stops.
Sams said youths from surrounding towns cruise Rosemead and Whittier boulevards every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, creating a traffic problem that he called his “personal nightmare.”
