Man Killed by Police Sergeant
An Inglewood police sergeant fatally shot a man armed with a shotgun Saturday as he allegedly tried to break into the apartment of his ex-wife’s family, police said.
Frank Lewis, 46, who was involved in an argument with his former in-laws over the ownership of a car, was attempting to break into the South Fir Street apartment when police arrived.
Police said Lewis raised his shotgun toward an officer and ignored demands that he drop it. He was pronounced dead at Daniel Freeman Hospital with a single bullet wound to the chest.
