Ruling Takes Boxing Win From Parker

Edward Parker’s victory over Refugio Rojas in their fight last month has been declared a no-contest because Parker tested positive for cocaine afterward, executive officer Ken Gray of the state athletic commission said Friday.
The California Athletic Commission made the ruling at a meeting in Los Angeles, and also suspended Parker indefinitely until he appears before the commission, Gray said by telephone from his home in Sacramento.
Parker won a decision over Rojas in their World Boxing Assn. Americas featherweight championship bout Feb. 26.
Also Friday, the state commission decided not to take immediate action against bantamweight boxer Jose Canizales, who tested positive for Darvon, a prescription pain-killer, after a fight Jan. 22.
