From Times Staff and Wire Service Reports

Dolly Parton is buying the first radio station she ever sang on--WSEV, her hometown station in Sevierville.

The singer said today she plans to move the station to her Dollywood theme park in nearby Pigeon Force and make it an attraction. The purchase is pending FCC approval.

When Parton was 9 years old, she and her uncle, Bill Owens, went to WSEV to tape some songs they had written, “Puppy Love” and “Girl Left Alone.”

Plans call for the original microphone and other equipment Parton used to tape those first songs to be displayed for the public to see at the station. Dollywood guests will also be able to see the modern station in operation.
