The Final Curtain Call Nears for Pacific Theatre’s Anaheim Drive-In

ANAHEIM — Pacific Theatre’s Anaheim Drive-In, on Lemon Street north of the Riverside Freeway, will close before the end of the month, Pacific spokesman Milton Moritz said Wednesday.
Moritz said he could not give an exact closing date. But according to a list of screening information submitted by the theater to The Times, the drive-in will close “forever” on Monday.
Asked if the closing results from a decline in ticket sales, Moritz would only say: “We felt the theater has better use as a swap meet.” Pacific runs weekend swap meets at the theater now.
The closing apparently leaves Orange County with only two year-round drive-ins: Pacific’s Hi-Way 39 in Westminster, and Stadium 6 in Orange, which is owned by the San Francisco-based Syufy Enterprises.
Pacific’s other drive-ins in Buena Park and La Habra have been closed for the winter but are scheduled to reopen later this year. Pacific’s Orange Twin drive-in is open, but the property has been bought and the theater is expected to close, Moritz said.
