SIDELINES : Pruett to Miss Much of Indy
Driver Scott Pruett is expected to miss much of the Indy-car season after suffering severe leg and back injuries in a crash last week, a team spokesman said.
“He’s definitely out for three months,” said Steve Horne, president of Truesports. Horne said he is looking for a temporary replacement for Pruett, who was injured last Friday when his car slammed into the wall at West Palm Beach, Fla. Horne blamed brake failure for the accident.
“The front end of the car was messed up so badly we’ll probably never know exactly what went wrong,” he said. Pruett was moved Tuesday from the critical care unit to a regular hospital room, where he was in satisfactory condition today.
