FULLERTON : Council Approves Signal Near Cal State

Share

The City Council has unanimously approved adding a traffic signal south of Cal State Fullerton to make it safer for pedestrians to cross the street.

The $65,000 signal will be added at Nutwood Avenue and Titan Drive.

The city’s traffic engineer, Paul K. Smith, said that some pedestrians have been hurt in traffic accidents at the intersection over the past few years but that the number of accidents hasn’t been unusually large.

“It’s a combination of the number of cars on Nutwood and the number of pedestrians crossing” to Cal State Fullerton, he said.

The university had requested the traffic light last year, and a traffic study showed that the intersection warranted a signal, he said.
