Capital Game to Face Mosey Along in Sires Stakes Race at Los Alamitos

Capital Game will be looking for his fourth win of the year when he takes on Mosey Along and nine others in the $20,000 California Sires Stakes for sophomore trotting colts and geldings Wednesday night at Los Alamitos.

Mosey Along, who makes his return to racing after a three-month layoff, is regarded as the one to beat, and Crown Holding, scratched twice in the last two weeks, is the mystery horse in the bulky field of 11.

The field, in post position order: Little Sur, Jim Grundy in the race bike; Mosey Along, Rick Plano; Rowdy Rooster, Lloyd Higgins; Clark Canyon, Fritz Haug; Capital Game, Gaetan Brunet; Here Comes Joe, Jim Morand; Rowdy Mariah, Joe Lighthill; U Bu Go, Mickey Difranco Jr.; Storm’s Brother, Ken Williams; Macho Camacho, Pete Foley, and Crown Holding, Ross Croghan.

Clark Canyon and Rowdy Mariah will race coupled in the wagering as the pari-mutuel field entry.

Macho Camacho and Crown Holding will start from the second tier in the sires stakes, which will go as the eighth race on the 10-event program.

First post will be at 7:30 p.m.
