NEW YORK — The United States soccer team scheduled another game against one of the world’s smallest countries, agreeing to play Malta on May 5 at Rutgers Stadium in Piscataway, N.J. The U.S. team, in the World Cup for the first time since 1950, also said it will play European power Ajax of Amsterdam on May 20 at RFK Stadium in Washington.
The United States has scheduled 13 international and three club matches leading up to the World Cup, the most warm-up games of any nation in the 24-team tournament.
