1 Killed, 3 Hurt at Hansen Dam Park
One person was killed and three others injured Sunday night in a gang-related shooting at Hansen Dam Park, police said.
An unidentified woman died when gunfire erupted at 6:20 p.m., said Diane Bond, nursing supervisor at Pacifica Hospital of the Valley in Sun Valley.
Three others were taken to Olive View Hospital in Sylmar, where they were in stable condition, Nursing Supervisor Earl Jones said.
Officer Andre Risse of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Foothill Division said the shooting was gang-related but did not elaborate.
The shooting sparked a large mobilization of police officers at the popular park. Radio reports shortly after the incident indicated that several people wearing gang colors were detained after fleeing from police, but none were identified as suspects Sunday night.
