The top-ranked UC San Diego women’s water polo team won the UC Santa Barbara Tournament on Saturday, defeating third-ranked UCSB, 6-5, in the championship.

UCSD improved to 13-0-1. In its other games, the Tritons beat UC Irvine, 11-3, in the semifinal, No. 2 UC Davis (7-1), Cal (9-4) and Brown (19-0). The victory over Cal avenged UCSD’s only blemish on its record, a tie earlier this year in the UC Davis Tournament, in which UCSD was the champion.
