Happy Earth Day: The garbage man will be Bette Midler’s fashion consultant for ABC’s big Earth Day special. Midler will portray Mother Earth on “Time Warner Presents the Earth Day Special,” which airs April 22. Her costume has been created from actual garbage, which the show’s organizers say “depicts man’s pollution of his own environment.” The TV special also features Barbra Streisand, Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman.
