A 6-year-old boy died at Children’s Hospital after he was struck by a car near his school in El Cajon as he darted across the street to meet his waiting father, authorities reported.
Hospital spokesman Mark Morelli said Kyle B. Davis was pronounced dead at 1:35 p.m. Tuesday.
The kindergartner was waiting at the corner of Grape Street and Broadway when he ran north on Broadway toward Bostonia Elementary School, according to police.
He was run over by a pickup truck driven by Todd Higgins, 25, of El Cajon. Higgins has not been charged, and police are still investigating.
