BUENA PARK : Minimum Setbacks, Lot Sizes Established

Share

To keep tighter control on the size and type of apartment complexes being built throughout the city, the City Council passed an ordinance establishing a minimum for lot sizes and setbacks.

The ordinance increases setback requirements--the area between the structure and the street or property line--from 10 to 15 feet in front, back and side yards. It also calls for minimum lot sizes of 12,500 square feet and minimum lot widths of 100 square feet.

Moving the building back from the street allows more space for landscaping, officials said. The ordinance, which was passed by a unanimous vote, goes into effect in 30 days.
