Suspect Hunted in Rape of Girl, 10
A widespread search was under way by Los Angeles police Friday for a gunman who kidnaped a 10-year-old girl on her way to school in the West Adams district, then drove her to an alley where he raped her.
Police would reveal few other details about the crime except that it occurred in the area of the Santa Monica Freeway and Western Avenue at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday.
The suspect was described as a man in his 20s, about 5 feet, 6 inches, with a slender build, a dark complexion, short, wavy hair and a trimmed mustache and goatee.
