LAGUNA NIGUEL : Crown Valley Pool Opens After Revamp
Crown Valley Community Park’s public swimming pool reopened this week, about a year after it closed for refurbishing.
The 25-by-34-yard pool will be open for lap swimming from 9 a.m. to noon daily, for recreational swimming from noon until 3:30 p.m. daily. Lap swimming will also be offered Monday through Friday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Starting April 30, the pool also will be open for lap swimmers from 6 to 8 a.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on weekends.
The pool was closed last April to be widened by three lanes. The old aluminum pool was also replaced with traditional gunite, a concrete mixture sprayed under pressure over steel reinforcements. A grand opening celebration will be April 28.
