Granger Has No-Hitter but Loses to USIU, 1-0
California’s Michele Granger pitched a no-hitter Saturday but lost to host U.S. International, 1-0.
Granger, a redshirt freshman from Valencia High School, allowed two walks, one to Shannon Riley to lead off the second inning. Riley went to second on Granger’s wild pitch and third on a groundout by Staci Moser.
Granger (15-10), who struck out six, then threw another wild pitch to Debbie Buford, allowing Riley to score.
Granger’s earned-run average is below 0.40 for Cal (26-21).
