PARTNERS IN MILLINERY Katrin Noon and Jodi Bent sen have never made the same hat twice. In the two years they’ve been creating their lovely headpieces, which are known for their heirloom-quality handcraftsmanship and use of vintage trim--from buttons to antique flora--the team has produced more than 200 hats. “We’ve researched and drawn inspiration from an earlier time--from the 1890s through the turn of the century, the teens and the early ‘20s,” Noon says. “We both feel an affinity with the fashion look of that era and with the way people lived. We feel like we were born at the wrong time.”

At Patina, the headgear--which ranges in price from $175 for a hand-dyed Panama to $500 for a bridal headdress--is presented amid garden antiques and a small new line of clothing. “When you wear one of our hats, it takes you back,” Noon says. “It makes you feel romantic, which is what I think people are looking for.”
