SHORT TAKES : Vereen, Ex-Girlfriend in Accord

Actor Ben Vereen, arrested last month for allegedly storming into his ex-girlfriend’s home and throwing her to the ground, reached a court agreement today to pay her $7,500 and stay away from her.
The woman, Christine Rich, sought a restraining order March 2, one day after she called police to have Vereen arrested after he allegedly kicked in the door to her house and assaulted her.
Vereen was not in court today, but his lawyer, Anthony Manlella Jr., negotiated the agreement with Rich’s lawyer. Under the agreement, Vereen, who lives in Malibu, will pay Rich $7,500 by June 18 and will stay at least 100 yards away from her home and work place.
