$250,000 Bail Set for Slaying Suspect
Bail was set at $250,000 Wednesday for an 18-year-old Thousand Oaks man held on suspicion of fatally stabbing a nurseryman in Thousand Oaks.
Ramon Castellanos is being held in the Ventura County Jail in lieu of the bail, according to a jail spokeswoman.
Castellanos was arrested after Ventura County sheriff’s deputies found him five blocks from the place on Warwick Avenue where Jose Narvaez, 49, of Thousand Oaks was stabbed three times April 19, said Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Harwell.
The Ventura County district attorney’s office plans to charge Castellanos with murder with the use of a knife, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Richard E. Holmes.
Castellanos, a cafeteria worker, is scheduled to be arraigned in Municipal Court on May 2.
