Romeo Takes Lead Into LPBT Finals
Robin Romeo of Van Nuys, seeking her first title of the year, earned the top-seeded position Wednesday night for the finals of the $35,000 Ladies Pro Bowlers Tour Greater Atlanta Open.
Romeo held a 244-pin margin over Stacy Rider heading into tonight’s finals.
Romeo, a five-time champion in 1989 when she earned a record $113,750 and was named Bowler of the Year, has not finished higher than 16th in the LPBT’s first six tournaments of 1990. Romeo, a 12-time career winner, averaged 209 while winning 19 of her 24 matches for a 42-game total of 9,359 pins. Rider, with 9,105 pins, and Jeri Edwards, at 9,019, are each trying for their first career title.
