VENTURA : Man, 40, Arrested in Cocaine Mail Case
A yearlong narcotics investigation has culminated in the arrest of a 40-year-old Ventura man on suspicion of transporting cocaine, authorities said Friday.
Alan Jeffrey Drettler was arrested at 10:55 a.m. Thursday as he drove along Telephone Avenue in Ventura, Ventura police officer Diane McCaskill said.
Police have suspected for about a year that Drettler was mailing cocaine to Hawaii and Alaska, McCaskill said.
He shipped a package to Sitka, Alaska, on April 19 and it was found to contain cocaine, McCaskill said.
Drettler was being held in the Ventura Jail. Bail was set at $500,000.
