BankAmerica Corp. has announced that George Coombe Jr., general counsel of the San Francisco banking company and its Bank of America subsidiary, will retire in October. Coombe, 65, will be succeeded by Michael Halloran, 48, a partner in the San Francisco law firm of Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro. Halloran was named executive vice president and will assume the general counsel duties in September.
