Oxley Stops Schwartz in Speedway Racing
Brad Oxley of San Clemente won the four-lap scratch main event in the weekly speedway motorcycle racing program Friday at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.
Oxley led wire-to-wire in front of 5,223 and stopped Bobby Schwartz, who had won a combined eight of nine races in April at Costa Mesa and Victorville. Schwartz crashed on the second turn, which forced a restart. Schwartz was disqualified from restarting.
Lance King of Fountain Valley was second and Steve Lucero of Riverside was third in the scratch main.
