SHORT TAKES : ‘Rambo’ as a Rainbow Warrior?

Film star Sylvester Stallone, star of box-office hits “Rambo” and “Rocky,” wants to shake off his tough hero image and turn green.

“I want Rambo to disappear unless I’m allowed to turn him into the defender of the ecological battle to save the environment. My new Rambo will be closer to Greenpeace than to the CIA,” Stallone said at a gala evening to be broadcast on Italian television today.

“I really don’t think there’ll be another ‘Rocky,’ just as the ‘Rambo’ cycle will probably end. I’m neither a boxer nor a soldier. But I’m not violent, I’m just the actor behind them,” said Stallone, who said he had nearly finished filming for “Rocky 5.”
