Jose Maria Olazabal of Spain overcame fast greens and a distracting duck to win a PGA European golf tournament by a stroke over Ian Woosnam of Wales at St. Mellion, England.
Olazabal sank a difficult downhill putt on the final hole and won $96,000, but only after he had twice marked his ball.
“There was a female duck moving about on my line and I waited, hoping she would jump back in the water,” Olazabal said.
