ANAHEIM : City Seeks Voluntary Water Conservation
Hoping to prevent mandatory water rationing later this year, Anaheim city officials have called on residents to voluntarily conserve water.
A statement issued by the Public Utilities Department calls on residents to administer simple measures to avoid wasting water in the state’s fourth consecutive dry year.
The city suggests that residents repair leaky pipes, plant drought-resistant landscaping and sweep driveways and patios, rather than hosing them down.
The department anticipates that the city can reduce its water use by about 10% if residents conserve voluntarily.
