Pasadena : Pact With Trash Collectors
Directors on Tuesday approved a three-year labor contract with the Los Angeles City Employees Union, which represents the city’s trash collectors.
Trash collectors will receive a 5% wage increase the first year and increases in the city’s contribution to their health insurance. In the second and third years, raises will be tied to the Consumer Price Index, with increases limited to 4% to 6%.
The union also agreed to submit to the city’s drug and alcohol abuse prevention policy.
