COUNTYWIDE : Robert Embry to Serve LAFCO Term
The county’s Local Agency Formation Commission, a quasi-legislative agency that considers boundary changes for cities and special districts, appointed Robert Embry to a two-year term as a regular public member.
Embry, a Thousand Oaks resident who has served the last two years as the commission’s alternate public member, will take office June 20. He replaces James E. Gordon, an Ojai resident who has served on the commission since 1986.
Larry Rose, former head of the Ventura County Farm Bureau’s Land Use Committee, was chosen as LAFCO’s new alternate public member.
The appointments were made by the two county supervisors and two city councilmen who sit on the five-member agency. Members usually serve two-year terms as alternates before serving a second two years as regular members.
