Where there’s smoke, there are firefighters, and in Orange County they are a well-trained group of men and women equipped to handle all fire-related emergencies, from house fires to high-rise blazes, hazardous materials spills to toxic chemical fires. Teams of paramedics (all of whom are certified firefighters as well) and paid-per-call volunteer firefighters round out the county’s fire protection crews.

The numbers listed include the stations in each municipality, sworn firefighters (officers, engineers and firefighters), paramedics, fire engines and specialized ladder trucks with the 100-foot extensions used to combat high-rise fires.
