Eagles to Fly Again?: The long-rumored Eagles reunion took a step closer to reality Saturday when Don Henley was joined by ex-nestmates Glenn Frey and Timothy B. Schmit for an hourlong set of Eagles hits in a showcase performance at the Radio & Records convention at the Century Plaza. After a scheduled performance by Henley and his band, the three ex-Eagles (with Henley in his old role as drummer) led the group through seven favorites, including “Hotel California” and “Take It Easy.” Frey and Henley are reportedly collaborating on new songs for a planned Eagles greatest hits package. There has also been much speculation about a reunion tour that might include guitarists Joe Walsh, Bernie Leadon and/or Don Felder, but nothing was said on stage Saturday about those projects.
