New Mental Health Services Planned
Two new county mental health facilities are scheduled to open July 1 in Thousand Oaks and downtown Ventura.
In Thousand Oaks, the East County Senior Outreach Program at 1459 Thousand Oaks Blvd. will serve clients who are over 65, said Randy Feltman, director of the Ventura County Mental Health Department.
Set to open on the same date is an office at 56 E. Main St. in Ventura, which will house a 12-person Small Community Outreach Team, or SCOT, Feltman said.
Tuesday, the County Board of Supervisors approved leases for the two facilities.
Feltman said the new services are part of an expansion begun by his department last year with the help of $4 million in state funding. He said his department received the award in a statewide competition among county health agencies.
