El Cajon
Three children and two adults were treated Wednesday at Grossmont Hospital for smoke inhalation from a fire started by children in an apartment, according to authorities.
El Cajon firefighters were called to the building in the 200 block of Chambers Street at 1:49 p.m. It took 29 firefighters from Santee, La Mesa, Lakeside and Bostonia a half hour to bring the fire under control. Damage was estimated at $60,000.
