Inglewood Teachers OK Pact

Share

Teachers in the Inglewood Unified School District on Thursday ratified a contract agreement that calls for a retroactive 2% salary increase for last school year and 5.4% for the current year, which ends June 30.

The teachers voted 366 to 137 in favor of the agreement, which ends months of tense talks between union and district negotiators. The Inglewood Teachers Assn. will return to the negotiating table in early July to discuss the contract for the 1990-91 school year and beyond.

Along with the salary increase, the agreement provides teachers with end-of-the-year bonuses in 1990-91 if they can cut teacher absences. The contract also requires that teachers sign in and out at the beginning and end of the work day.

District administrators, who have not received a pay raise in three years, will receive the same increase approved by the teachers.
