Restoration Done Right: A Vatican Museum official has embarked on an international tour to make sure the controversial restoration of Michelangelo’s acclaimed frescoes in the Sistine Chapel is properly understood. “The controversy has already died down. But some (critics) may never change their minds,” Walter Persegati, the Vatican’s international arts coordinator, said during a recent visit to New Jersey.
