School at Ambassador
Sam Hall Kaplan gives lots of space to arguments against using the Ambassador Hotel site for a high school. He criticizes the school board for “little imagination,” but lets his run wild for his alternative plan.
Imagine this: an auditorium in an old theater here, classrooms in industrial spaces there, administration in offices somewhere else, and God knows where for an athletic field. Sounds like busing between classes. Utter chaos.
He also mentions “some very successful private schools and experimental public schools in other cities.” He owes us some names. Maybe he knows more about real estate than education.
