George Goodale, former publicist for the Angels, died at Garden Grove Medical Center of cardiac arrest, the team said. He was 83.

Goodale joined the Los Angeles Angels of the Pacific Coast League in the spring of 1946 as a member of their publicity department and stayed until 1957.

He remained in the Los Angeles area until the arrival of the Los Angeles Angels as an American League expansion team in 1961. He was the Angels’ first publicity director and worked in the publicity department until 1985.
