Is anyone behind the scenes in TV...

Is anyone behind the scenes in TV land grammatically intelligent enough to know proper usage of the words “I” and “me”? Barely an evening goes by without someone proclaiming, “He asked John and I to come over” or “Sally and me were talking on the phone yesterday,” etc.

We’re told constantly that today’s children don’t read, they just watch. That being the case, how are they going to learn anything from “watching” if this is the caliber of dialogue they’re given on the tube?
