Children’s Shows Awarded: Action for Children’s Television (ACT) today is to honor 20 programs from broadcasting, cable and home video for significant contributions to television for young audiences. Among the public television shows being hailed are “Long Ago and Far Away,” “Shining Time Station” and “WonderWorks. Cable shows to be saluted include Cable News Network’s “CNN Newsroom,” Showtime’s “Familytime” and Nickelodeon’s “Make the Grade.”
