Azusa : Fireworks Rules Tightened
The City Council unanimously adopted an urgency ordinance prohibiting the use of fireworks in commercial areas during the Fourth of July holiday.
The urgency ordinance, which went into effect Monday and will stay on the books until a permanent ordinance is drafted, restricts fireworks to residential areas and city parks. It also prohibits the discharge of fireworks within 100 yards of stands where fireworks are sold.
Also, those selling fireworks are now required to hand to each customer a warning sheet describing the city’s fireworks law.
