Huntington Park : Residential Trash Rate Will Increase to $7.75 a Month

The Huntington Park City Council has approved a 55% increase in the residential trash collection rate--from $5 to $7.75 a month--effective July 1.
The increase was requested by the city’s residential hauler, Western Waste Industries, to compensate for increased dumping fees and other increased costs. The current rate has been in effect since August, 1986.
The city also charges residents a monthly administration fee of 17 cents.
The City Council approved a 49% rate increase for its commercial trash hauler, H.P. Disposal, last month.
