A Tucson woman died after lying out in the sun for at least six hours, hospital officials said. The 37-year-old woman was unconscious when she was admitted to Tucson Medical Center. Her identity was withheld. The woman had a body temperature of 107 degrees and badly burned flesh, officials said. The temperature in Tucson had reached 107. “She was packed in ice immediately, but she was already into severe sunstroke and had lapsed into a coma,” said TMC spokesman Tom Reavis. “She never regained consciousness.” Doctors speculated she fell asleep while sunbathing.
